Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood

4.0

Pleasantly surprised. this has all the usual Ali Hazelwood tropes, but she does seem to be trying to branch out (or at least not make them so in your face). A lot happens in the first third of the book, so I didn’t know how she was going fill the rest of the story. But it was a refreshing change from typical romance plot arcs, and there was a big chunk of happiness and growth in the middle, which made it very easy to read. I’m not totally sold on the characters or their chemistry—
Elsie is so insecure it becomes annoying, and Jack isn’t fleshed out as much as I would’ve liked. Jack somehow knows exactly what Elsie’s thinking and sees through her charade, but I find it a little hard to believe.
don’t get me started on the Boston/Cambridge inaccuracies!!
And the note to Jack on the last page felt so random to me :/ I kept rereading it like wait did I miss something
