Broken by the Horde King by Zoey Draven

4.0

as a self-proclaimed hater of second chance romances ... this slapped.

THIS WAS SO ANGSTY AND DELICIOUS in all the right ways a second chance romance should be. i want flashback POVs, i want to know each and every individual hurt, i want there to be so much groveling it takes up chapters. and this delivered. though it could have used a smiiiiiidge more groveling. because the limit does not exist.

our FMC, a human raised in a dakkari settlement, crosses paths with the love of her life - her childhood bestie who she harbored a fervent, deep, and unrequited love for for years until he broke her heart and walked away without looking back.

years pass, and she's forced to accept the job of healer in his horde. forced proximity deliciousness ensues.

this was so, so sweet, and packed a hell of an emotional punch for anybody who's ever felt the sting of rejection and unrequited love.

at this point, i want anything zoey draven writes injected directly into my veins the minute it releases.
