The Stage Dive series continues with Mal, the drummer. He swoops into Anne's life and her apartment and somehow convinces her to pretend to his girlfriend for a while. Anne, in desperate need of a roommate (and the fact that he was her biggest teen crush) agrees. But what happens when, predictably, the arrangement turns from pretending to like each other to actually liking each other? Especially when both of them have trust issues that run deep? The book deals with some deeper topics, like why Mal needs a fake girlfriend, and how Anne is holding out hope that her best guy friend will actually realize that she's head over heels for him, but Mal as a character is quite funny and loveable, so there's plenty of moments where you'll find yourself laughing at his antics. He's a rockstar, but a loveable one.
