The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

5.0

First Ali Hazelwood book I read and before starting it I was not really expecting much, since I didn’t think I’d be into it based off the summary and the cringey cover of two people KISSING (def a book cover ick for me).

I boy, was I SO wrong… Finished it in two days because I couldn’t put it down. Literally from page two I was already cackling and I couldn’t get enough of how funny all the STEM jokes and nerdy banter was.

One of my favorite quotes from the book was her advisor mentioning Olive needs to “have the confidence of a mediocre white man” when presenting. PREACH SISTER!

I was so amazed that Hazelwood had seamlessly written such witty and random bio research/academia related references into the story, only to find out that she actually has a PhD in neuroscience herself. HECK YEAH! No wonder she made this book so relatable to women in research.
