I listened to the audiobook and loved Jennette’s narration.
As a kid, I dreamed of acting in the shows I’d watch on Nickelodeon and the Disney channel, but after hearing about Jennette’s experience as a child actor, I’m grateful that I was never exposed to that life. This book isn’t simply a tell-all of her time on iCarly or Sam & Cat; it dives into her dysfunctional familial relationships, abusive upbringing, and her battle with anorexia and bulimia. It’s a tragic story, but is told in a witty way. I also appreciated the uplifting message it ended on.
I don’t tend to read memoirs, but this was fantastic. I highly recommend it!
