Dark Witch
by Nora Roberts
Not one of Nora Roberts’ better trilogies. I’d recommend the Three Sisters Island trilogy instead.
Background of the trilogy: long ago there was a showdown between Dark Witch Sorcha (who was good) and sorcerer Cabhan (who is super evil). She tried to kill him, but couldn’t quite manage it, so now her descendants are sworn to finish the job.
Dark Witch, the first book, is about Iona, an American who moves to Ireland on an impulse, meets her witchy cousins, and learns to master her own powers. It’s just... hectic and unsatisfying, full of artificial-feeling plot hoops to jump through.
