The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart

Did not finish book.
I tried to read this because it was for a book club and I love the person who chose it very much but...

Let's start with the positive. The narrator is a psychiatrist and the tone of the narration is very true to the analytical way he approaches life.

Unfortunately, that made it very procedural and cold which was hard for me to relate to so it was hard to bond at all with the character. Also, he was a (large) bit of a pompous arse.

I won't give this book stars because I only made it about 60 pages in before giving up. Based on the bit I did read plus other reviews and discussing with a couple of people who finish it, I can say that it contains a fair amount of sex/drug content and he's not exactly into womens' lib (it was the 70s, hello). I didn't get that from the descriptions I original read so I'm including it here.
