The writing had me from the first page. There was a horrible, skin-crawling unease that stayed with me the entire time I devoured this book. I don't want to say too much about what happens, so I'll just say that there are numerous difficult, intense scenes to read through, some very dark humor, and a main character that chilled me to the bone. I cannot fault this book, because in the end, it was so different from the other thrillers I've read. I'm terrified to read the sequel but I also can't wait.
