Misery is living her life amongst the humans when she is pulled back into the vampire realm. As soon as she arrives to see what her father needs she is immediately used as a pawn in her fathers game. She  is asked to marry the werewolf pack leader to help reinforce their alliance. She agrees, but it's not to help her father.

Lowe is the new alpha of the pack. He challenged the alpha and took over recently. He agrees to marry Misery to help reinforce their alliance. He also trades a werewolf for her. The pack is torn on whether or not they agree with this decision. As he is such a new pack leader there is an undercurrent of werewolves that are still going against his rule.

Lowe's little sister Liliana is immediately smitten with Misery. She has no fear of the vampire which makes her great in Misery's opinion. There aren't many people besides her best friend/sister Sloane, but Sloane is missing and Misery will stop at nothing to find her.

Slow build romance. Protective male protagonist. Funny loveable female protagonist. What's not to love.
