Fumbled by Alexa Martin
3.0
There's something I just love about Martin's writing that keeps me coming back for more. After reading the other two books in this series I jumped at the chance at getting into this one. In Fumbled we meet single mother Poppy Paterson who is just trying to make it. Raising her sweet nine-year-old on her own while working as a waitress at a men's club, Poppy is a dedicated mom, living a noble life. Until one day, while minding her business at work, she runs into Denver Mustang star, T.K Moore, who also happens to be her high school sweetheart and her baby daddy. Suddenly all the emotions she thought she left behind have come raging back as she and TK begin to reconnect and she informs him that whoops, he's a dad!
I truly adore the second chance at love trope and this one gave me all the feels. I loved their love and the way they came back together with no huge fanfare. The only thing that I think truly irritated me as a reader is that Poppi had no real goals or purpose in her life other than being a good mother, which is great but I wanted to see her want more, do more, and not be satisfied with the bare minimum.
Other than that the writing was superb and the characters truly fit together in the most beautiful ways.
