The only other books I've read by Philip Reeve were super funny. So I was a little disappointed when I first started this book. It's not so much funny. But it's completely and totally awesome. So, any disappointment I felt quickly left, to be replaced by excitement and awe at Reeve's creativity and writing chops. I'm excited to read the rest of the series.
