A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole

Coming to America with a Nigerian Prince Email Scam meet-cute.

OMG, this was so good. Ledi is a hard-working grad student, booking her time with pretentious jerks in her infectious disease program. She's been on her own since her parents died when she was 4 and she was never adopted out of the foster care system. This girl, she had every good reason to be suspicious of the weird emails from somebody in an African nation claiming that she was to marry a prince, but please provide your social security number as proof of ID. Say what?

Prince Thabiso takes matters into his own hands and goes to NYC to find her. But when he tracks her down while she's working her serving job at the university faculty dining club, she thinks he's the new employee and proceeds to hand him kale and start training him. A prince. Who has never touched anyone else's food in his life. But he sees the opportunity for Ledi to meet him as a "regular guy" and not as the prince and he goes for it, full-on Eddie Murphy in Coming to America.

But then, he realizes her parents had died and Ledi doesn't even know she's from his country. Has no idea that she was supposed to marry him. She doesn't know who she really is. So does he immediately tell her? Do you think it could be that easy? Of course not. He wants to . . .

It's wonderful.
