The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow

4.0

My first "spooky" themed book for October was a good choice! I wasn't totally sure what this one was about when I went in, but the world building and characterization was just *chef's kiss*. I love that it was a world so similar to our own but different in small ways, like historical figures being female instead of male (i.e. Sisters Grimm). The idea of witching being something everyone can do, the fall of witching being due to the fragility of the male ego, and the power of sisterhood both by blood and not were my favorite themes.
