Ankle Snatcher by Grady Hendrix (the second story in the Creature Feature collection) is about Marcus, a man who has spent his life believing that his father killed his mother. The night of the murder, Marcus's father insisted to him that a creature called the Ankle Snatcher had done it because Marcus's mother had gotten out of bed without turning the light on. Marcus still follows the superstition, but things go sideways when the woman he's been seeing decides to spend the night.

This story is so good, guys. The creep factor is high (so high that I'm a little scared to set foot out of bed with the lights off now, haha) and the story is both gruesome and heartbreaking. At just 29 pages, it certainly packs a lot of punch in to a small package! If you're interested in a quick, gory read that still manages to tug at your heartstrings, definitely check out Ankle Snatcher!
