Before She Knew Him
by Peter Swanson
One review of this book called it "Dexter Meets 'Girl, Interrupted'" and that's not a bad summary. A solid 3.5 stars for being entertaining, twisty, though a tad sluggish in the middle and containing one obvious plot twist most readers would guess.
Hen and Lloyd move into a new neighborhood and quickly make the acquaintance of the only other childless couple in the area---Matthew and Mira Dolamore. After dinner and a tour at Chez Dolamore, Hen becomes fixated on an item in Matthew's study that she is sure ties him to an unsolved murder. Hen, however, has a bumpy mental health history so is she possibly an unreliable narrator? This one was an engaging page turner with a few unexpected turns.
