Very enjoyable western that started off clunkily (is that a word?). Either the editor or L'Amour decided we didn't really need to be introduced to some of the characters, because they're kind of cookie cutter. I must have read the first 12 pages four times trying to figure out who's who. Things settle down after a while and we get lots of action and rugged individualism and a love story to boot.
