F**k, Marry, Kill Me, Daddy by Lance Lansdale
4.5

4.5 stars
There wasn't a single sane person in this book, everyone is unhinged and I stopped trying to find any sense in their actions after a few pages. But I genuinely loved it!
Scotty is an adorable psycho twink, who's also very lonely and hurt. When he realises a man is following him, it's love at first sight. Scotty clings to Brody (in every way) and never lets him go.
Brody is a hitman who's going through a sexuality crisis after getting to know his target. He's in a open marriage and he never looked at other men. But now he finds himself very attracted to Scotty and despite numerous attempts, he's not able kill him.

Brody and Scotty's interaction is hot, hilarious and, sometimes, sweet and strangely romantic. I loved both POVs: Scotty thinks every mean thing Brody tells him is his love language, that they're playing the Murder Daddy game, while Brody keeps denying his feelings for his target (sexual attraction, possessiveness, jealousy) by claiming that every physical interactions was forced and hurting Scotty in the process.
Poor Scotty, he couldn't understand Brody's back and forth, there were times when he seemed so invested, while others he brutally pushed him away.

I loved when Brody definitely surrendered to his love for his Freakshow: from that moment, his number one priority becomes keeping him safe.

The sex scenes since their very first encounter at the club, are insanely hot, very very hot!

What prevented me from giving 5 stars:
I didn't like Fiona at all: she was an awful wife, unsupportive, shaming, domineering, arrogant. She never respected their rules about the open marriage and she took advantage at her own convenience. She even convinced Brody to open their marriage to his best childhood friend, Kincaid, discarding his husband for her new lover. And she twisted the truth and made Brody feel guilty.
I don't think Kincaid was a good friend to Brody either: he should have noticed that Brody was blatantly put in the background by Fiona. She said Kincaid was uncomfortable around Brody because of his homophobic commente, but why didn't he talk to his best friend about it?

I really really hope we won't have too many scenes with Fiona in the second book. Although, she's already inserted herself between Kincaid and Tatum (Scotty's best friend), so we'll see.

Lastly, there's a mention of Tatum's boyfriends, the Bens: their dynamic seems very interesting, maybe the author will give them their own book too.

Recommended.
