Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
2.0

I've been writing this review in my head almost the entire time I listened to the audiobook (which is roughly 26 hours [too] long).

I don't like to be a hater, but I really don't think this book needed to be written. Maybe it's because I entered the fandom late. Maybe it's because I've forgotten a lot of what the first book entailed. But the whole thing reads like a "hey, I'm just the author popping in to remind you that this series exists" and it felt like a ploy to rekindle something that died a while ago.

At the very least, Edward's intensity over our fragile female protagonist made me laugh, and it was nice to revisit the world—even if it was painful for the majority of the journey.

At any rate, maybe a more avid fan will enjoy this. Anyone else, read at your own risk.
