Artie and the Wolf Moon by Olivia Stephens

adventurous dark emotional mysterious fast-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

4.0

This is for a younger audience but I found it a little predictable, as soon as
cat showed up out of nowhere it was obvious she was a vampire
. I did read this at like 3 am so take it with a grain of salt! But I wish there was more depth here, especially with Artie and the other kid characters, the adults' backstory was given far more depth than Artie's character. However the focus on family and community was nice to see, ESPECIALLY the origin story of werewolves, and the forest scenes had some fantastic illustrations!!
