The Nation of Plants by Stefano Mancuso

2.0

A meandering, rambling book with a goofy premise. I don’t disagree with many of the points (though some are cringey and lack nuance), but I’ve heard 90+% of this before, laid out much more neatly and effectively. Bonus star for the few things I had not heard about and that were interesting (although often not well tied back into the book’s thesis). I’m not sure this book is going to change anyone’s minds much, nor serve as a great call to action. People who care about these topics probably are already familiar with most of the book’s contents. For a book that purports be about what plants can teach us, most was human history (not his area of expertise) or facts about climate change.
