Barracoon: The Story of the Last "Black Cargo" by Zora Neale Hurston

5.0

I listened to the audio version of this book. The introduction by Deborah G. Plant gave me some insight into Ms Hurston's academic career and the controversy surrounding the publication back in 1931. I'm so glad this book was finally published in 2018. I felt like I was transported out of my present moment because the narrator, Robin Miles, captures the emotions so well.
