A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
4.0

This is my first Nicholas Sparks book but I'm not unfamiliar with his style of writing. If the few movies that I've watched and this book are any indication then he writes predominately beautiful tragedies. This usually isn't my type of book but trying new styles sometimes give pleasant surprises.

I won't say that I'd gladly recommend this book but it had a lot of meaning in it. Landon is a likeable character even with his minor flaws; he really is a good guy. He is funny at how he talks about people and describes how the town is. Landon is really just a regular guy who I could relate to.

Jamie on the other hand is really way too nice. Landon is nice but Jamie is nice on a whole other level. Although I liked her I probably would've been along with every other kid in town thinking that she was a little weird. She truly is a saint though and you've got to give her credit for being such a good person.

Landon is a perfect example of a kid who grew up, truly loved, and became that much better of a person because of the person he loved. There was one thing that eructed me though and it was the ending. For a second it left me with hope but then I got the feeling that Landon never really moved on. I don't know if this gave away the ending but Landon gives hint and clues as the book progresses.
