I really liked it. Cole is so loveable and Shay is a pretty cool character.
Also, Cole is a pretty dark grey character, but way less creepy than Callum. He felt much lighter than his brother, despite his actions.
I loved getting his POV, I just wished we saw more of his darkness. It’s there, but it’s used more as his internal conflict about their romance, and with how soft he was, I just felt that his character was nearly too good. I wanted to see more of Cole relishing in those dark moments, living it, there are only some moments that show he doesn’t feel the remorse he should. I must be reading too many dark romances if this one didn’t quite hit that spot lol
I wish we got a story with Chelsea and Axel. I feel like it’d be amazing.
There was only one thing that really bothered me because it’s a pet peeve of mine, and the reason this is not 5 stars - in the beginning, but also in some chapters throughout the book, the chapters sometimes ends with some doomsday sentence, something that says everything was gonna end badly, etc. for me, it sort of kills the flow of the book, takes me out of the narrative and it doesn’t really add anything to the book. I feel like it’s trying to add tension, but just feels wrong. It’s a SMALL thing, I’m well aware, but like I said, it’s one of my pet peeves and I know I react a bit disproportionately about it.
