Maid-sama! (2-in-1 Edition), Vol. 6 by Hiro Fujiwara
5.0
This series is super cute! I actually binged it in quick succession, so my review for all of the series is the same. I watched the anime and wanted to know what the anime missed, so I decided to give the series a whirl. Misaki is the first female student council president at a school that, until recently, was a boys-only school. She rules the school with an iron fist, earning the nickname "the demon president" but she has a secret: she works part time at a maid cafe! When the most popular boy at school sees her in her maid uniform, she isn't sure how she is going to keep her reputation intact. The first half of the manga is very similar to the anime, very rom-com and cutesy. The second half, while it definitely gave more background, also got really odd in parts. there is a spot where her love interest, Usui goes to England and she has to go rescue him, and she gets a little unnecessarily mean to him during finals, not to mention the weird ten-year jump at the end. despite the strangeness, I absolutely loved this and will definitely read it again sometime!
