By 2025 standards, this is 4.25 stars. In 2023, my favorite Stephanie Archer book was rated 4.25 stars and this book definitely tops that. So even though they're the same rating, just know that Stephanie has improved (in my opinion) and if this had come out in 2023, I would've rated it 4.5 stars.
Now that my spiel is done, this was a solid romance. Predictable, sweet, hopeful. It was good. I loved FMC's growth and her songwriting journey was super cool. MMC's mom's struggles with mental health were good to see, though I've seen mental health handled better in romance novels. Overall it was good, but there was definitely something lacking. An extra spark or something. Speaking of, I'm going to reread The Wingman to prepare for Gloves Off (the new release)!!
