This short story is only 20-30 pages long but somehow has nestled itself in my mind and won't go away (in the best way possible). I've never read a book that seemed good but unremarkable at the time that then just simmers and pops into my head almost on a daily basis. It is by far the my favorite in the Into the Shadows series (followed by Tamsyn Muir's). Any specifics on this would become a spoiler because of how short it is, so I won't give any. I will just say that Alix Harrow manages to create a full story that leaves readers wanting more, but in a way that is neither incomplete or unsatisfying.
