Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave
by Joanna Gaines
3 1/2 stars
"The joy in design is the challenge and gratification of creating a space that feels like home every moment that you spend within its walls." pg 209
Picked this up for a great price at Anthropologie back in the summer and just got around to reading it as I'm looking for inspiration for our new home. I appreciated the commentary throughout the book that gives the reader insight into her design choices. I wouldn't say that my own style completely lines up with hers, but I do feel similarly about the purpose and function of a home and found many great ideas to incorporate in my home.
So, one caveat about recommending this book - if you are a color person, move on. This one isn't for you. Her style foundation is the black/white look and even when she adds color, it's almost always a neutral that blends in well with the other black and white components of a room. It got a bit much for me and I'm a fan of B/W myself. FYI.
