This twisty thriller provides a unique storyline, engaging characters, and satisfying twists. Great as a buddy read/bookclub read!
Characters: I quite liked Jet as a character—she is a little unconventional, maybe a tad immature, and definitely sarcastic. I enjoyed her sardonic response to the situations she was placed in and felt like she was relatable. The remaining side characters, including her best friend, Billy, were all well constructed as well. It is clear the author put a lot of thought into the roles each character would play and how each character could be a suspect in Jet’s death.
Plot: TWISTY! I felt like the twists were twistin’! While I know some people guessed the outcome, I did not and at points there are cases to be made for many different suspects. How the eventual story turns out felt like a satisfying conclusion over all.
Setting: This book is set around Halloween, which makes it a fantastic fall read. The town as described was perfect for the chilling story that unfolds.
Overall: I would recommend this as a solid thriller recommendation for any of my thriller-loving friends. It also works for folks who enjoy crime/whodunnit mystery novels.
