Oh Tate, you got me good.
You fooled me by writing an entire series about airhead MK to lure me into a false sense of dread only to present me with the most savage of all dark angels: Hades.
THIS is the kind of FMC I was looking for. I do not want to read about a damsel in distress so imagine how relieved I was to see the gender roles totally flipped in this series:
Hades - boss lady owner of the Copper Wolf corporation by day, ruthless angel of vengeance of the Timberwolves gang by night
Lucas - resident golden retriever, totally helpless and in-puppy-love with Hades at first sight, also stacked like Adonis and apparently a natural at the pole and in bed (beginner's luck? lol)
Zed - Hades' second in command, bit of a man whore, can use me to blow off steam any time of the day
Cassiel - grumpy leader of the Reapers, often referred to as grandpa as he's the only one above 30 in this group, can angry-kiss me whenever Zed is not available to fill in
I'm also glad we're no longer doing this anonymous stalker romance bullshit and actually know who the villain is fairly early on, but damn, that cliffhanger sure hit deep and meant I'm now in a downward spiral to binge this series
Some quotes:
Mentally, I wrote a quick eulogy for my panties because they'd officially drowned.
I loved her. I really did. I'd killed for her many times over and would continue to do so forever... but fuck me, sometimes I wanted to smother her with a pillow.
