Searching for You by Jody Hedlund

3.75

Sophie, a young adult, poses as an older teenager to take an orphan train out of town after her boyfriend was involved in murder.  Sophie takes with her two young children she's taken care of - a little boy and a little girl she pretends are her younger siblings.  Upon reaching the mid-west, Sophie is separated from the children.  She runs into an old family friend, with whom the romantic plot occurs.

While the plot was interesting, part of the book felt unfinished.  I wanted to see more to show why the lead characters fall in love.  I get that they're physically attracted to each other, but I'd have appreciated more from the emotional-attraction side.  I think the book just tried to do too many plots in too few pages.  That said, it was still a nice, escapist Friday evening read.
