The Way of the Superior Man: A Spiritual Guide to Mastering the Challenges of Women, Work, and Sexual Desire by David Deida

3.0

There are some useful bits in it but the author has failed to understand there are nuances to a person. In 'the way of the superior man' he talked about Shiva. I grew up in a Hindu household and what I have learnt is, Shiva is incomplete without Parvati. We always say .Shiva Parvati, the reason is they are one. Yes they are two different bodies, but they're to be perceived as one.Shiva defines spirituality and observes 'Maya' (drama/art of human life) with a level of detachment and Parvati defines materialistic ideals also creates 'Maya' . And an ideal human is a combination. All of us irrespective of gender should strive to practice the qualities of Shiva Parvati . If you skewed to the extremes of either-or it will destroy you by throwing you off in it's shadow side- toxic masculinity and toxic femininity.

So no his interpretation isn't the full picture of the story.
