“These violent delights have violent ends, you have always known this.”

Our Violent Ends is the sequel to These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong and such an emotional rollercoaster. This has been one of my most anticipated releases for this and it did not disappoint. It has a lot more angst, romance, and definitely a lot more heartbreak and violence. Also all of those tropes?? I could not put this book down. I'm gonna need some time to emotionally recover from this. I didn't expect to be this heartbroken and fall in love with these characters? Just setting myself up for pain and torture right there, classic me. I am still in complete denial over that ending and have set an alternative ending in my head.

While some things were quite predictable and the subplot between the communists and the nationalists was hard to follow, it was full of action and the character development was *chefs kiss.* If the subplot was done separately then there would be no complaints. I want more action with those monsters and the gang trying to take them down, instead of being left to the last moment. It felt like it kinda got pushed to the side to accommodate for the subplot.

“ I love him. I love him, Tyler, and you tried to take him from me.”

Roma and Juliette completely own me, I'm just in love with both of them. Their angst! Them holding knives to each other throats please, I was struggling to refrain myself from screaming at work. And then the fact that they got married! Not over this... curse you, Chloe Gong. The fact they were from enemies to lovers back to enemies than to back to lovers. My heart y'all.

But Marshall and Benedikt... oh my god! They had me squealing and wanting to shout at the book. Seeing Benedikt so heartbroken over believing that Marshall was dead, the amounts of times I wish I could shout "he's alive," was torture. I hope that we can see more of them, even if it's in a novella because I'm not done reading about them. Give me the gays!

“To have and to hold, where even death cannot part us,’ Juliette whispered.
‘In this life and the next,’ Roma returned, ‘for however long our souls remain, mine will always find yours.”

Also is it just me being delusional or does anyone else think that Roma and Juliette might not be dead? like they could've found a way to get out and then with that epilogue scene? Was Alisa just imagining them two on the boat together or was it actually them alive?

"In this life and the next, for however long our souls remain, mine will always find yours.”
