Dark Rivers of the Heart by Dean Koontz

3.0

Intriguing premise, however the pivotal relationships seemed quickly fabricated and the plot relies heavily on luck and happenstance. Per usual with Koontz novels a corrupt government features heavily and some aspects while greatly exaggerated are based on terrifying slices if truth. The build of suspense is steady and quick changes in perspective keep the reader engaged. Overall an enjoyable murder mystery but be advised it is certainly not for the squeamish.
