Proust's writing meanders like a stream; sometimes it's narrow and clear and every colorful rock on its bed is visable, othe times, it's breadth is wide and appears to slowly and gently carve its way through vast sweeping plains and around wonderful mountainous bends. His sentences can go on seemingly for pages, dreamlike, as he reminisces about the past he holds so dear...and then you begin to do the same of your own. Proust's prose is beautifully poetic and he paints a scene as an artist does on a tapestry, and you can see it, visually, as such.
