I avoided the hype arround this book all last year. Refusing to give in into a road trip had me listening to the first 3 chapters of this book.
By the time I got home, i was hooked.

An extraordinary human girl meets a grumpy  Fae male and they hate each other.
Seems like the premise to so many romantasy books these days that I didn't even know why I was reading it.
And then...and then.

I loved loved Fisher. Even when he was grumpy. When he was obviously fighting his feelings when he KNEW.

And Saeris. I love a feisty female character. I loved that she wasn't the typical "i hate everyone and know everything and I'm stupid and lucky enough to jump into situations" character.

She actually made sense. She actually had real reasons behind everything she did.

AND I LOVED THAT THERE WAS NO 3RD ACT MISUNDERSTANDING TROPE. It was just the story moving along with plot twists and world-building and a few surprises that made complete sense when revealed.

Even the side characters were top-tier!

I am so happy I read this.

I can't wait to read the next book for more adventures with the whole crew.
