V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram
5.0
This is a really great uplifting read about a topic that is relatible to a lot of girls. It's not just about sex or lack thereof but it's about a young lady valuing her own body and sticking to her decision despite social pressures.
The main character is Valerie, a teenage girl who at the very start of the book is victim of a breakup all because she has chosen not to have sex. With her crazy best friend Cara she meets rockstar Kyle Hammilton and the two engage in a game of flirting but Kyle wants Val to break her pact and interest is picking up on Val's business/ political life as more people take on the challenge.
There are a lot of secondary characters but the most noteworthy is Kyle and I believe we get a lot more of his story in the next book in the series.
The storyline is really easy to read and actually is a great story for young girls to read about. The pacing is also excellent and I loved the epilogue which has set the story up really well for the next book in the series.
5 stars a fantastic read
