I had a lot of fun with this book. It had a great start and introduction to our two main characters, Royce and Hadrian. I really loved the characters and can see how their stories can support an entire series. 

The plot was easy to follow and was low stakes. I don’t think I would have any trouble picking up book two a few months down the road and getting right back into the world. I think I will treat this series like a palate cleanser. Overall, I think this would appeal to novice and experienced fantasy readers alike!
