This book is One-of-A-Kind. I've heard about The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store a million times, but I never knew that James McBride wrote this masterpiece years before. Uses Dark Humor to expose the idiocies of racism & infuses it with real, historical events.
some of the best storytelling i've ever read, while also being packed with so many layered characters & American Folklore. I need to read this one again eventually, it has me wanting to read The Adventures of Huckleberry & Finn + James ASAP
