I'm a classics lover, and Madeline Miller has written the perfect retelling of this story. I think the love shared between Achilles and Patroclus was well situated within its historical context without feeling cheated of its depth. The extensive cast of characters are brought to life in such an immersive way that I could see them as I moved through the story. I devoured this book and I look forward to reading more of Miller's works.
