(4.5) i put off starting this book for so long because i was scared and thought i should prepare myself for all the heartbreak. turns out, six months isn’t enough. i could not stop crying for the last hundred pages. i would be mad at Sabaa Tahir for all the pain she caused me—if she hadn’t written one of the best ya fantasy series i’ve ever read.
even though i thought the first half was a bit slow and maybe even a little boring, i can’t rate this lower than 4.25 stars. i will never get over Helene, never.
now this series is over, and it feels like it’s taken a little part of my soul with it.
