Honestly, it was a miracle I didn't DNF'd this book.
Actually, scratch that. I fininished this book out of pure spite. My masochism is what made me push through this.

I was so so SO annoyed with Belly the whole time.
The childishness, the selfishness and OH GOD her constant undying devotion to a wet blob of a BOY who doesn't deserve a second glance.

Truly, I am fed up with that boy (because he's no man). Belly was on and on with Conrad this, and Conrad that. I would've strangled her if I could.

Again, not much else happened. Apparently there was some growth for the characters (finally) -and actually, only Belly: Conrad is still and idiot and Jere was already perfect- but the road to that growth was so fucking annoying that I didn't even register the progress, I was just glad to be done.
And that is assuming we are indeed done, because I'm not even sure this stupid child meant it. And even if she meant it, I'm not sure she has the guts to stick up for herself and keep at it when it gets hard.

That last chapter has me wrecked with nerves. I truly don't want to go through this again. And I know I'll read the next one because I'm stubborn and stupidly hopeful like that but I'm really not ready to read the same fucking story a third time. Because if she did what I think she did, I might revolutionize the world as we know it and invent a way to bring book characters to life just so I can slap her over the head until my handprint is a permanent mark on her face.

That being said, I love Jere, Belly definitely doesn't deserve him giving her the time of day.

Taylor be spitting facts! I'm not sure she's a good friend, but she ain't lying when she called Belly pathetic. And Belly definitely is a shitty friend. I mean, she also sucks as a person, but that's neither here nor there.

Laurel was amazing on that scene with Adam and she deserves a prize for not smothering her daughter with a pillow and putting all of us out of our misery.

Steven is barely even mentioned, which sucks, because I like him a lot in the TV show.
But, I mean, the TV show is better in all aspects anyway, especially because somehow it managed to make me like Belly there, and I didnt' think that was possible.

Anyway, a moment of silence for what could've been a coherent review of a book and instead turned into a rant about my hate for Belly.
I'll see how this turns out, but not know. Maybe I'll read the next one before the third season of the TV show premiers just so I can lower my expectations and be ready to be amazed, but in the meantime I need to cleanse my soul from the utter disappointment that is Isabel Conklin.
