I must have a thing for unhinged narratives because I absolutely fell in love with this novel and read it just shy of a single day. Mackinstosh has a knack for beautiful lyricism when it comes to style of writing, and it made the story all the more twisted (especially after finding out that it’s based on a true event in 1951). I knew what to expect and was still pleasantly, awfully shocked. 5/5
