2.0

This book had a lot of promise and I was very excited from the premise, but ultimately I couldn’t enjoy it. The pacing was very slow, with long descriptions and internal monologues that I had to forced myself to slog through. By the end I just ended up skimming a lot of them because they were very repetitive.
We also don’t get to see any of the action in the story and instead are told about it constantly after that fact.

The world building seemed interesting but we never really got any descriptions or real explanations about it. It didn’t seem fleshed out at all (which might’ve been on purpose since this is Book 1).
Another con is the cliffhanger. Seemed like a lot of bloat at the beginning just for it to end with a setup for Book 2 (huge pet peeve of mine).
Relic and Noah were interesting and I would’ve liked to see more from them, but not sure if I’ll pick up the sequel
