The scene was set, get to the point please. 30% into the absolutely nothing has happened.
Part 2 of the book sounds like every college/ university class i avoided at all costs. Make Winston read the book, why do I have to?
Overall, there is a lot of detail and the idea presented was good, but the characters lack depth, they are extremely boring. Orwell thought about every minor detail of the society depicted, but barely anything happens in terms of plot. This novel could have been 2/3 shorter. At least can relate to Julia, because I too am superficial and don't care about the details of What's going and the politics.
Overall I am very disappointed that this book has so much more recognition than "We" does.
