I have listened to Sarah’s podcast on and off for a couple of years now, and I found this book to be more of a mash up of advice she has expressed in various podcasts throughout the years. It was basically, “Read aloud to your kids,” and anecdotes about how meaningful it has been for her over the years. It was pretty much what I had expected, and I don’t think I would have read it if it hadn’t been available at my library. That being said, I do take the advice here to heart, and plan on reading to my kids even after they learn to read on their own. My oldest can read, but he still has difficulty with certain words, and benefits a great deal from being read to on a daily basis from books that are too difficult for him to read on his own.
