The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter

In the sixth book of the Lords of the Underworld series, we are presented with the story of Gideon and Scarlet, a story that was, in the least, curious.

I liked that, unlike the previous books, the protagonist also has a demon inside her, in Scarlet's case it was the demon of nightmares. I found her story the saddest so far, as far as the male and female characters are compared. Scarlet's journey was painful and lonely. It's a good thing that in the end everything got straightened out.

I've liked Gideon since the other books and I still like it a lot. I can't deny that I have fun at times with his lines, as he says everything contrary to what he means. As a couple, they were the cutest so far, and although they're not my favourite couple, they've been through many things that deserved this peace.

One of the highlights of this story was the addition of a lot of crucial information for the hunt for objects, information that going forward will be very important and also a big problem.

I felt sorry for Aeron, William and especially Amun in this book, as they almost died in hell, but at least it all worked out. Not to mention that their visit was crucial for us to find out, with Aeron and Amun, more about Will's past and what he is. Very curious to learn more about his story.

It wasn't one of my favourite books in the series, but that doesn't mean it was bad. This is the sixth book and the author is managing to maintain the level in every one so far, always urging us to want to know more and more about this universe to make it rich.
