Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

Reading this put me through such a whirlwind of emotions! I laughed, blushed, and CRIED MY DAMN EYES OUT! By far the best book in the series, the last normally is. It took me quite a long time to get through this book, but not because of what you think. It was because I literally was crying too hard to continue. The writing made the Maeve/Cairn torture scenes so vivid and I didn't know what was real and what wasn't and when she pulled that trick out on the battlefield I lost my shit. I genuinely thought she was dead at first glance of chapter 114. ALSOOO can I just say that honestly, Eldie might just be the most badass character in this series! She has no powers, no fighting skills, no experience with just about anything and can't even walk properly (thanks to Vernon, what a bitch) yet somehow still is the most fearless person I have ever witnessed! Page 517 proves my point so much when she got onto Farasha and rode out to save Lorcan, she rode out with an injured foot and helped him onto a horse and attempted to outride the breaking dam. The ending with the kingsflame blooming was beautiful and ended this series perfectly! LOVED IT!!!
