Overall, this was a really fun book.
It was pretty much just what I expected it to be.
That said, I had some issues with the main character and her stupidity:
My first impression of her is that she can be rude and judgy in her head. She often acts selfish around certain people, and others just plain stupid. Her despreation made her seem like a ridiculous fool. Desperation to fit it, to be popular and cool like those girls...And she would let them use her and mistreat her, for what?
*may be spoiler*
Just to show you how pathetic she can be sometimes:
"How could she let her friends make me do this? Just because of some stupid image issue? Why didn't she stand up for herself?"
...
The speaker proceeds to do exactly what they told her too, allowing herself and others to be bullied but hypocritically blaming it on everyone else.
Also, I the author repeated many phrases so that it was a bit annoying. I counted them for you:
"It was all i could do...." count: 2 (i hate this saying)
"My heart went out to him/her" count: 4
"...face turned pink/red" 4
"I snorted a laugh" 2
I really loved how short and quick the chapters and whole book was.
While i dont love the authors writing, I did learn some new words and facts.
The setting of the school was fun.
The characters were mean and shallow, again, pretty much what you'd expect.
There was one point when I was super mad at the main character and something completely dumb she did, which lowered my rating and any exiting respect for her.
But there were also times when I was cheering her on for FINALLY standing up and saying no. I was so proud of her :)
Anyways, I already have the next two books and I liked this one enough to read them some day (partially bc they're so short and fun).
