Once the Skies Fade by Vanessa Rasanen

1.0

I don't really expect Nobel Prize literature when I pick up a romance novel (regardless if it's contemporary, historical or fantasy). I expect a fun, perhaps lighthearted read. I am aware that in romance novels the focus is more on the characters than the plot, however, I expect that the plot (thin as it can be) is somewhat coherent and makes sense.

Alas, nothing in this book made sense which was quite frankly disappointing because I actually liked the author's other books and her writing. It's obvious that she struggled writing this book because it feels like a novice writers writing. I'm sad about it because this book has made me hesitant to pick up anything else from her. Would not recommend this agony.
