Okay y’all THIS BOOK. THIS is the one. I was simply ✨obsessed✨
Let me preface this by saying, this is the first FF/sapphic romance I have ever read, and it definitely won’t be the last! I loved these characters so much. I fell in love with Maggie during the Gallows Hill series, and I was so excited to delve deeper into her character with Deliverance. Her and Bridgette are both so beautifully flawed. They both struggle in their own ways and are just trying to find some freedom in a world and society that was designed to keep them down. I loved getting a behind the scenes look at what was happening to them and the events that happens in Gallows Hill.
Bridgette was one of those characters that I hated at first. She was rude, a total butthead (think another b word but I don’t want my review to get flagged 😂☠️) and just stuck up. I loved seeing her character develop throughout the book. I especially loved that she was finally able to get help and started seeing a therapist. I truly believe everyone can benefit from therapy. Even the most stable people. But seeing her go through that process and open up and move through her trauma was such good character development. By the end of the book, I loved her and I just want more!
I was so happy to see her and Mags get the happy ending the both deserve and find their family with Skyla and the guys. It may be dysfunctional, but it definitely works for them. I’m so sad to see the gallows hill world come to an end, but I loved every minute of it.
Favorite quote: “My heart tugs at the way she says that. Finding her with Asher was definitely only the start of our story. I thought it would have been our demise; instead, we descended into this messy and complicated limbo, where neither of us are getting what we want. Deceit, betrayal, and hurt. All the good times fade away, and suddenly. those three emotions are all that remain.”
